Straight from the fridge, young papayas are juicy, lush, refreshing, mega-quaffable and packed with fibre, potassium and vitamins A and C. Because of their subtle flavour and smooth texture, they provide a great base for other flavours in a smoothie, especially subtle flavours that could otherwise be overpowered.
We have been gifted a lovely packet of rose tea from our lovely friend, Ruth in Sydney. We decided to brew a little and blend it with a papaya and oat smoothie. The result is simply delicious. Not too sweet, healthy, antioxidant, refreshing and daring to be a little different.
Ingredients
200g young papaya
teaspoon black tea with rose
1/2 cup boiling water
1/3 cup oats
3 cubes ice
Blitz and enjoy.
